In his early years he worked at Lime Grove Studios, London, for Gainsborough Pictures and Gaumont Britain, absorbing everything around him. Later he was with Stan Pavey, one of the best directors of photography in the industry. After returning from 3½ years in the RAF he retained the knowledge gained and moved to Jersey where a passion for antique cars and the arts took over. Returning to London he worked for the performing arts and fashion in his studio built into his home in St John's Wood. Having always strived to advance his studio lighting techniques, he hopes to share some of that knowledge with fellow APG members. On the other hand, he thinks he´s such an awful outdoor photographer and at 84 years of age he hopes his new found friends will also teach him a thing or two!
