In the early sixties I worked in Sri Lanka (then Ceylon), too busy for photography. In March 1992 enrolled at the Winona International School of Professional Photography in Chicago to study studio portraiture. In November 1993 I was awarded Licentiate to the Royal Photogaphic Society. My working career in Hong Kong covered three major areas. The HK sailing magazine "Fragrant Harbour" employed me as their "race photographer" and my work was published and sold to the competitive sailing fraternity.
I was also contacted by the new HK fashion designers to photograph their fashion shows held weekly. Also with my intensive library of HK cityscapes my photographs were sold through fairs held in the top hotels. After the arrival of my first grandchild I suddenly became very much in demand photographing children up to the age of 5 yrs. Since arriving in the Algarve I have photographed friends' beach weddings (but not on an official basis). Also captains portraits at Alto Golf Club. My main hobby is travel, having visited Tanzania trekking gorillas in the Verunga mountains. Tribes in Northern Thailand, Papua New Guinea and hoolie wigmen. Burma, Palaces of Rajastan and country life. Canadian Rockies, Swiss mountains. Vineyards in Tuscany. Australian outback and the blow holes in New Zealand.( plus numerous scenes of Portugal.) Unfortunately before digital, my work is all on transparencies, so too tiring to download thousands of images... Until arriving in Portugal in 1998, I only worked with manual cameras!!
